We are glad you are here! Be sure to visit with us during the social hour after every service!
Heartland seeks to foster a climate of purposeful inclusion of all people regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or national origin.
We are a congregation which celebrates and supports the lives, the relationships, and the individual and group contributions of its lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender members and friends. We affirm and promote their full participation in the life of the congregation and community.
Heartland's Four Types of Services
As an emerging church, Heartland is lay-led. Each month on rotating Sundays, we offer four different types of services. They are:
1. Guest Speaker;
2. Heartland Member Services, which are developed by members of our church;
3. Services from the Church of the Larger Fellowship (www.clf.uua.org), which are services that were first given at another UU church and then put online for smaller churchs without ministers to use; and
4. Chalice Circle Services, which consist of a spiritual topic for discussion in small groups.
We encourage you to visit different types of services to get a true sense of Heartland.
Things you might want to know
When preparing to come to a service for the first time, feel free to come as you are most comfortable. Some people come each week dressed up and more formal, while several others are quite casual. This "come as you are" atmosphere extends beyond mere clothing and other adornments. We welcome all seekers regardless of any prior religious affiliation (or none as the case may be).
Our Nursery & Preschool Care is available from 10:15am - 11:30am.
Members will be glad to help make your visit comfortable and enjoyable in any way.
